Illinois Small Business Community Endorses Jim Oberweis

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (July 7, 2020) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, today endorsed Jim Oberweis for election to the United States House of Representatives to represent Illinois’ 14th Congressional District.

“Jim Oberweis not only has served in the Illinois state Senate since 2013 but is Chairman of his family-owned dairy operation and owner of his own business,” said Mark Grant, NFIB’s Illinois State Director. “During his time in the state Senate, Oberweis earned 100% voting records, proving his strong support of small business issues. We are confident he will continue to be a champion for Illinois’ small business community in Congress. On behalf of small businesses in Illinois’ 14th Congressional District, I am proud to endorse Jim Oberweis today for election to the U.S. House of Representatives.”

Oberweis is an entrepreneur, businessman, state senator, and native of Illinois’ Fox Valley region. During his time in the Illinois state Senate, he earned a 100% NFIB voting record.

“Small businesses need good representatives in Congress now more than ever,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “With a distinguished background in both the private and public sectors, Jim Oberweis brings a solid understanding of the challenges that small businesses are facing. We are proud to endorse him today and look forward to working with him in Congress.”

Oberweis said one of the most pressing issues facing the country right now is the need for small businesses to come back and he will make growing the economy his top priority as a member of Congress.

“The NFIB Fed Pac has endorsed my campaign because they know that I am the best candidate to fight for real economic growth,” Oberweis said. “My opponent supports jobs killing measures like Government Healthcare for All and the Green New Deal. Businesses have been hit hard by the government-mandated shutdown of our economy. We can bring jobs back, but we need leaders in Congress who understand business issues and who will advocate for the common-sense policies we need. I am a job creator who will bring decades of business experience to Washington DC to help bring our economy back.”

Jim Oberweis’ endorsement today comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues. Decisions made by NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member driven grassroots evaluation process. Small business owners are influential in their communities and NFIB members in Illinois will work hard to elect Jim Oberweis to Congress.
