Sugar Grove, IL – The National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns initiative has named Jim Oberweis a Contender, a designation given to only 35 candidates nationwide.

Contender is the second level of the Young Guns program. Contender candidates have completed stringent program metrics and are on the path to developing a mature and competitive campaign operation. They are in congressional seats that appear favorable to the GOP candidate.

“This is a recognition of the importance of the race in the 14^th Congressional District and also of the interest nationally in this race,” Oberweis said. “It is also is a recognition of the hard work my team and I have put into this race. I am the conservative candidate in the race who can beat Lauren Underwood in November.”
