Marco Rubio to headline Oberweis campaign fundraiser

“SUGAR GROVE – U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida will attend a fundraising event for State Sen. Jim Oberweis, R-Sugar Grove’s congressional campaign.
Oberweis is seeking the GOP nomination for the 14th Congressional District to run against incumbent U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood, D-Naperville, in 2020.
Travis Akin, an Oberweis campaign spokesman, said Oberweis has known the Florida senator for a while and supported Rubio’s presidential campaign in 2016.”
