Sugar Grove, IL – State Senator Jim Oberweis (R-Sugar Grove) and candidate for Congress in the 14th District, today joined Pastor Corey Brooks in providing food for area families hit hard by the damage done to local grocery stores and pharmacies as a result of the recent rioting and looting in Chicago.
Oberweis led a caravan of volunteers to Pastor Brooks’ New Beginnings Church of Chicago this morning to deliver meals and to help hand out care packages. More than 5,000 care packages were distributed.
“We want to do everything we can to help,” Oberweis said. “Thank God, people like Corey Brooks are here to help these families in need.”
