May 20, 2020
For Immediate Release-

(Sugar Grove, IL)- A group of Republican Kendall County elected officials and candidates are heading up an event this Saturday to distribute free care packages to people in need, according to State Senator Jim Oberweis (R-Sugar Grove).

This week Kendall County Republican candidates will be providing milk and masks along with food from the Kendall County Community Food Pantry at 208 Beaver St. in Yorkville from 9:00 AM to 11:00 on Saturday, May 23.

This is a no contact event. Just drive up and the bags of food, masks and milk will be placed in your car or trunk. The Care Package will include items such as fresh Oberweis Dairy milk, protective masks, and food items. There will be at least 500 bags distributed.

State Senator and 14th District Congressional candidate Jim Oberweis has provided milk at similar community events in Chicago and Harvey with Pastor Corey Brooks and in St. Charles and Elgin with Kane County Republican officials.

“People are hurting right now,” Oberweis said. “I have been amazed at how people turn up for these events. There is a tremendous need to make sure families do not go hungry, and we are trying to do something to help.”

Joining Senator Oberweis will be Kendall County GOP Chairman Jim Marter; State Representative Keith Wheeler (R-Oswego); State Senator Sue Rezin (R-Morris); State Representative David Welter (R-Morris); State Senate Candidate Jeanette Ward; IL 11 Congressional Candidate Rick Laib, and Kendall County Board Members Dan Koukol, Scott Gengler and Matt Prochaska (also GOP nominee for Kendall Circuit Clerk).

The event is also being sponsored by Oberweis Dairy.
